Specialist in general medicine
Katrin Reimer-Bürkle combines broad clinical experience with a clearly structured approach to family medicine. After medical school at the University of Cologne and Berlin, she enrolled in a broad spectrum specialist training in different hospitals, where she worked in cardiology, surgery and intensive care medicine.
Several years in a specialist diabetes clinic continue to shape her focus: the care of people with diabetes – from prevention and education to therapy planning and the management of possible complications. It is important to her to make medicine understandable and to make treatment decisions together. She relies on evidence-based diagnostics, transparent communication and goals that fit into patients’ everyday lives.
She identifies risks early, organises treatment pragmatically and manages follow-up reliably. In this way, she combines proactive prevention with support in acute situations and long-term care – for people of all ages.
Specialist in general medicine, surgery and visceral surgery
PD Dr. Undine Gerlach-Runge brings clinical depth and scientific expertise to general medical care. She studied at Humboldt University of Berlin (1996–2003) and Université Renée Descartes Paris V (1999–2001), earning her doctorate in 2004 from Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich.
This was followed by an extensive career at Charité – University Medicine Berlin (Anesthesiology 2004–2007; Surgery 2007–2019; Emergency Medicine 2019–2021) and in England (Churchill Hospital, Oxford Transplant Centre, 2014; and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Liver Unit, Birmingham, 2017). She served as a senior physician in transplant surgery and in Charité’s surgical emergency department, completing her habilitation in 2019.
As a specialist in surgery and visceral surgery, she brings many years of experience in abdominal, transplant, and emergency surgery. In general practice, her focus is on holistic patient care: accurately assessing acute complaints, providing structured management for chronic conditions, and explaining complex medical situations in a clear and comprehensible way. She listens attentively, performs structured examinations, and communicates therapeutic decisions transparently. Her approach combines clinical precision with the accessibility of family medicine – clear steps, realistic goals, and continuous care on equal terms: reliable, empathetic, and straightforward.
